Welcome to Oenanthe Birding Adventures
“As a boy I'd gaze with youthful amazement at some of the exotic species depicted in my faithful Heinz, Fitter and Parslow field guide, dreaming that one day I may be lucky enough to see some of them. Great Spotted Cuckoos, Rollers, Blue-cheeked Bee-eaters and the like all looked to be unattainable jewels destined to remain on the pages of my book. Meetings of the YOC (Young Ornithologists Club) and weekend excursions to the Norfolk Broads and coast only served to fuel my imagination but never did I dare think that these birds would one day be in front of me.
As I grew older and learned to appreciate the world beyond my comfortable home and school life I began to dream of exotic lands. Of the Orient, the shifting sands of the Sahara, the frozen pine forests of Scandinavia, the troubled Biblical lands and those wave-lashed far away Atlantic islands.” - Chris Lansdell
If any of these memories and dreams strike a chord then Oenanthe Birding Adventures could be just the thing for you. Our tours are not only dedicated to birding but to so much more than that.
We gladly welcome birdwatchers of all ages and levels of experience to join our closely knit and friendly tours whether they be to hotspots of Europe, North Africa and The Middle East or closer to home in Norfolk.
We are intent on providing our customers with a thoroughly worthwhile experience in which they not only see as many birds as possible but also take away new knowledge on such subjects as migration, identification, moult/ageing and fieldcraft.
By using highly experienced guides and local contacts we are able to ensure that the very most is made of each tour and we leave nothing to chance.
Our costs are kept as low as possible without compromising on quality. In a business with traditionally high prices we believe this really sets us apart and proves why we are the best choice for the budget conscious travelling birder.
Please feel free to browse the pages of our website. We hope you find the right tour for you.
