Bempton Day Trip – Seabird Heaven

Bempton - Seabird Heaven

Various dates in May and June every year

Puffin

During spring and summer the cliffs at Bempton on the Yorkshire coast come alive with seabirds which provide one of the most awe-inspiring of all birding experiences. To visit at this time of year is a memorable experience for both birders and photographers. Gannets plunge into the surf, cute Kittiwakes and Fulmars cling to the cliffs side by side with Guillemots and Razorbills who whizz backwards and forwards feeding themselves and their young. The star bird for many however is the lovely Puffin which should provide us with some good views and photographic opportunities for those with cameras.

For those travelling from East Anglia the cliffs and birds here provide the closest opportunity to see a large seabird colony and is a welcome contrast to our own coastline.

Our day tours leave Norfolk and/or Suffolk in the early morning and return mid-evening allowing us ample time to savour the delights at Bempton and allow for some flexibility to visit elsewhere if time permits.

The tour should appeal to novice birders and photographers alike.
